\u201cSouth of the Border<\/strong>\u201d is an exhibition addressing the timely and controversial topic of immigration through the works of ten artists.\u00a0 Featured artists include (in alphabetical order): Lili Bernard<\/a>, Marisa Caichiolo<\/a>, Pablo Cristi<\/a>, Joel Garc\u00eda<\/a>, Oscar Magallanes<\/a>, Maja<\/a>, Poli Marichal<\/a>, Andres Montoya<\/a>, Sandy Rodriguez<\/a> and Votan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

WED. NOV. 8th (7-9pm)<\/strong>
\nIn conjunction, the gallery will present a panel discussion with Eileen Truax<\/a>, author of Dreamers: An Immigrant Generation\u2019s Fight for Their American Dream<\/u><\/em>. \u00a0Dreamers<\/em> concerns the generation brought to the United States as children\u2014and now fighting to remain here legally.\u00a0The panel will also include Dreamers<\/em> Yunuen Bonaparte<\/a> & Adri\u00e1n Gonzalez. FRI. NOV. 17th (7-9pm)<\/strong>
\nComedian and Dreamer Johan Miranda<\/a> presents his solo performance\u00a0\u201cALIENATED\u201d \u2013 addressing the topics of immigration and DACA in this\u00a0one-night-only standup special. (free tickets<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth of the Border<\/strong>\u201d is jointly curated by Liz Gordon (The Loft at Liz\u2019s) and curator, art historian, and civic activist Isabel Rojas-Williams<\/a> (former Executive Director of the Mural Conservancy Los Angeles).<\/p>\n

South of the Border<\/em> is part of the Participating Gallery Program of Pacific Standard Time: LA\/LA, a far-reaching and ambitious exploration of Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, taking place from September 2017 through January 2018 at more than 70 cultural institutions across Southern California. Pacific Standard Time is an initiative of the Getty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
